The Gateron Cap V2 Switch uses a new shape that resembles a cap, which is why we also called it "Cap Switch". The improved structure for the new switch series provides a smooth and tactile typing experience. It is also fully compatible with 2-pin/4-pin LED, RGB LED, and mechanical keyboards that are hot-swappable without modifications.
The shaft has been enlarged and hollowed out to make the switch more stable and to avoid wobbling. This first-generation gold-plated contact offers better oxidation resistance and a product life of 60 million cycles.
Based on the theory of aerodynamics, the shaft with 0.4 tiny holes can allow excess air to escape and reduce resistance when the key switch is pressed, making it smoother.
The switches are well lubricated before leaving the factory, which generally improves smoothness and stability. There is no need for you to lubricate them again.
Compatible with all mechanical 5-pin MX (hot-swappable) keyboards with 2-pin LED/4-pin LED/SMD LED or RGB LED lighting. Note that the Cap Red Switch, Cap Blue Switch, and Cap Brown Switch are not compatible with mechanical keyboards with plug-in light. Note: Due to the case design of the Gateron Cap Milky-Yellow, Golden-Yellow and Golden-Brown switches, the backlight effect is not as visible.
